Yvette Luhrs studied film sciences at the UvA, where she specialised in Porn Studies. She focused specifically on the portrayal of women’s visual pleasure, as well as the media debate around pornography.
For two years she was the program director at Dusk, the only pornographic TV station in the world for women, where she investigated what exactly constitutes porna (pornography for women).
As a pornographer and performer, she’s primarily interested in “ethical” and especially “feminist” pornography.
Based on these interests, last year she co-founded Sekswerk Nederland, a research organization promoting positive representation around sex work. Also she is one of the organizers and spokesman of the Holy Fuck Film Festival in Amsterdam.
